Mezcal & Sotol

Mezcal and sotol are related to tequila, but while tequila can only be produced in a small area in the state of Jalisco/Mexico, mezcal is referred to agave spirits outside of this area. Mezcal is only slightly different in the making and often has a very pleasant smoky aroma and taste. Sotol is in contrast to mezcal and tequila distilled from the plant Dasylirion wheeleri (also known as Desert Spoon) and has a very characterful taste.
