Connemara ist ein irischer Single Malt, der seit seiner Einführung im Jahr 1987 eine wachsende Fangemeinde begeistern konnte. Connemara stellt dabei einen klaren Bruch mit dem irischen Whiskeytradition dar, da in Irland bisher auf die Verwendung von getorftem Malz verzichtet wurde.

Die sanft ölige und deutlich rauchige Aromatik des Connemara kann es gut mit einem schweren Islay Malt aufnehmen. Am Gaumen lässt der Whiskey seine Muskeln spielen und überzeugt mit einer schönen Fruchtaromatik, die wunderbar in die Torfaromen eingebunden ist. Der Nachklang ist lang und rauchig, wie man es von einem Whiskey dieser Klasse erwartet. Spannend!
